Often cited as a pioneer in retained executive search, Nirmit’s over two decades experience in executive search has predominantly been cross border in nature. Nirmit has successfully identified leaders for large Indian groups, multinational conglomerates and start–up ventures who in turn have created multibillion dollar enterprises. An Engineer, he has been trained internationally in the latest methodologies of retained executive search.

Nirmit has played an active leadership role for the Indian recruitment industry. He was one of the founders of the Executive Recruiters Association (ERA), and assumed responsibility as its Vice Chairman and then Chairman of its Ethics Committee. Kathy McLean’s career in executive search started in 2000, and she has been a Principal in Penrhyn International since joining Fish & Nankivell in Melbourne in early 2004. Much of Kathy’s practice is in the public and not-for-profit sectors, in which she has served leading state and national organisations in Australia.

Kathy has a Bachelor’s degree in English with Honours from Monash University, Diplomas in Education and in Information Studies from Melbourne University, and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.

Kathy was originally a teacher, and has taught in Germany as well as Australia. Later she became a national specialist in curriculum and assessment issues, being appointed co-leader of the National English Curriculum and Assessment Project and Director of the National Benchmarks Project which developed standards in literacy and numeracy for all students in Australian schools.

Kathy is a member of the Board of the Victorian Institute of Sport and on various committees of the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria. In the past she was very involved in her professional association, as a member of the Board and chair of the Professional Development and Publishing committees.

Andrew Bonwick’s career has covered a number of industrial and service sectors, including CEO and Non-Executive Director roles in Australian Stock Exchange listed companies. He advised Institutional and Corporate Funds as a Research Analyst with McIntosh Securities (now Merrill Lynch BOA) and held Executive Director level roles in the Electricity Sector in generation, distribution, C&I and SME retail.

After graduating with a degree in Applied Science and a Masters degree from Melbourne University in Industrial Economics, he worked with General Motors in a variety of local and overseas positions before moving to PA Consulting as a strategy and performance consultant within the Capital Intensive division. In 2003 he moved to be CEO of PowerDirect (ASX:AEN) which was sold for 23x historic earnings. Originally from South Africa, Janice has worked in Melbourne since 2001, conducting executive search assignments across a number of sectors including healthcare (acute, allied & devices), banking & finance (with a particular emphasis on investment banking), and strategy.

Janice worked for Accenture in South Africa, heading up their Recruitment function for 5 years before joining Investec as their Head of Talent, where she led a large change project for the recruitment function. Her next role was to set up the Johannesburg satellite office for a Brussels based business called EMDS, before moving to Australia and working in the executive search industry.

Julia Soutter is a graduate of the University of St Andrews (Scotland) with a Master of Arts in Modern History and International Relations. In 1995 she began her recruitment career in a leading UK financial search and selection firm where she chose to specialise in public sector and not-for-profit appointments though her remit grew considerably to include human resources and other senior management positions. Her ability to identify hard-to-find individuals, often with a unique combination of skills, made her a highly respected consultant and she was quickly promoted to Director of Public Services & Charities. Phil Watson became a Principal of Penrhyn International in 2001 when Ogilvie Watson merged with Fish & Nankivell, one of the earliest member firms of Penrhyn International. Phil’s career in executive search started in 1989, and he was co-founder of Ogilvie Watson in 1995. Phil has a multi-industry practice and serves Australian subsidiaries of international companies as well as major Australian organisations.

Phil’s career as a consultant started with ten years with Arthur Andersen. He then joined Idaps Computer Science and PA Consulting. From PA Phil became head of Distribution Systems for Repco Corporation, before returning to PA Consulting as an executive search consultant in 1989.

Kazushige Hata started his career in Corporate/Retail Sales and HR at Kokusai Securities (now Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities). He then became a corporate research analyst and worked for foreign securities firms including UBS Securities and conducted research and analysis focused on consumer electronics companies such as Sony and Panasonic.

Yuhiko Yasunaga became a Principal in Penrhyn International in 2004 when he joined Shimamoto Partners, Penrhyn International’s member in Japan. Yuhiko’s practice includes both Japanese and international clients. Much of his search activity reflects his 21 year career in the financial services sector.

Yuhiko’s career with Sanwa Bank started in 1979, and he rose to become General Manager of the Sakaemachi Branch. During his time with Sanwa Yuhiko was seconded for a period to a senior position with East Japan Railway Company. After leaving Sanwa he had a short period as CFO of MOBIT, before joining Russell Reynold Associates as Executive Director. He moved to Shimamoto Partners as a Partner in 2004.

Yuhiko is a graduate of Keio University and also has a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge. He speaks fluent English. He has been a board director of a media service company, and is currently non-executive auditor of Tokyo Shoji Company Limited.

Cesar brings more than 30 years of professional experience, with the last 10 years in executive search.
