His career began with studies in Labour and Organisational Sociology, following his completion of Hotel Management School. He then held various management positions at Brunel, a publicly traded people resourcing organization. Subsequently, he served as a managing consultant at Interlace Executive Search and Hudson, where he established successful government sector practices. In 2007, Teunis joined Maes & Lunau and became a partner in 2012.
At Maes & Lunau, Teunis is responsible for executive and non-executive searches across central and local government, healthcare and educational institutions, housing corporations, and public transport companies. He has successfully placed directors, managing directors, and supervisors who make significant impacts within organizations with social missions. Teunis is known for his analytical strength, reliability, and deep respect for public sector managers, often working extensively to address challenges, as exemplified during the COVID-19 crisis.
